Original Abstract

Nowadays, light weight concrete (LWC) is increasingly used in construction, namely LWC with aggregates of expanded clay - type of Liapor. It is often necessary to test characteristics of built-in concrete during building works as well as after finishing the work on structures. One of ways of control of quality LWC built in a structure is using non-destructive method. For finding of strength characteristic, there are reflective rebound methods and ultrasonic pulse method which may be also used for determination of dynamic modulus of elasticity. In the paper, there are results of NDT of LWC with expanded clay by using the mentioned methods and calibration relations for determining the compressive strength of LWC taken from parameter of NDT. There is a comparison of conversion coefficients for the modulus of elasticity related to both normal-weight concrete (NWC) and LWC. Processed calibration relations between the parameter of NDT and compressive strength are characterized by high degree of correlation coefficient , where for basic calibration relations is higher than 0.9.
