Článek se zabývá stavem české elektroenergetiky v období těsně před zahájením fungování trhu s elektřinou. Jsou prezentovány scénáře vývoje spotřeby elektřiny do roku 2020 i pokrývání této spotřeby různými typy zdrojů. Popsána je i palivová základna ČR a současný stav a trendy vývoje elektrických sítí a mezinárodních výměn elektřiny. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována situaci při nástupu konkurence mezi výrobními zdroji a dopadům na řazení výrobních bloků i na činnost při operativním řízení provozu ES.

The paper deals with the conditions of the Czech power system in the period just before the start of the electricity market. The paper presents various scenarios of the consumption of electricity up to year 2020 including the meeting of this anticipated demand by various generation sources. The description also includes the fuel base of the Czech Republic and the current state and trends of development of power networks and foreign exchanges. Special attention is paid to the situation at the moment of the onset of competition between generation sources and their impact on ranking generation units for the purposes of power system scheduling.
