Original Abstract

Observatory Upice in Czech Republic starts the observations of total solar eclipses in the epoch of phenomenal progress of satellite observation of the Sun. In this epoch the interest in terrestrial observations of solar eclipses temporary fallen down. This situation changed after applying of new mathematical methods of coronal picture processing. These methods allow us to detect very faint structures in solar corona, especially in the lowest part of it. This low layer of solar atmosphere, directly connected with chromosphere and often hidden for space and terrestrial coronagraphs, plays key role in transferring of energy from the Sun and other processes. We present development of observational and processing methods used by authors, as well as some examples of coronal pictures processed by traditional and mathematical methods.
