Stavební objekty jsou charakteristické dlouhou provozní dobou ve srovnání s fází návrhu a výstavby.Význam kvalitní údržby v průběhu užívání staveb nebyl u nás dosud doceněn. Nedostatečné finanční prostředky tuto skutečnost potvrzují. Mezi nejexponovanější objekty patří mostní konstrukce, jejichž technický stav není zcela uspokojivý. Nicméně systém technické péče, včetně údržby mostních objektů funguje. Tento systém je však nutno chápat procesně a zlepšovat. Vybrané prvky zavádět postupně i pro údržbu budov v pozemním stavitelství.

Building objects are characterized by a long service time in comparison with the phases of the project and building. The importance of the best quality maintenance was up to now in our country underestimated. The insufficient financial means confirm this fact. To the mostly exposed building objects belong the bridge structures, the technical state of which is not satisfying. Nevertheless the system of technical care including the maintenance of bridges works. It is necessary to consider this system as a process and to improve it steadily. The selected elements should be introduced step by step even for the maintenance of structural engineering buildings.
