Original Abstract

The forepart of the solution was focused on the development of a material that would be an alternative to currently used metallic materials. Metallic materials have a lower acquisition price per kilogram but steel materials are susceptible to corrosion, especially in aggressive environments (a combination of moist and acid environments). For metallic materials higher maintenance costs must be taken into account in comparison with recently-developed modern composite materials.
