Original Abstract

The TETRA over IP network architecture in the fullest sense of the world is different from the network architecture of conventional TETRA systems. The difference between conventional TETRA and TETRA over IP is that TETRA over IP not based on a central switch in which every communication is preceded, but based on several IP routers. TETRA over IP uses the Internet Protocol (IP) to carry information from one location to another location; the information itself is not standardized in any way. This paper shows a typical TETRA over IP based network, using IP routers to interconnect different TETRA infrastructure components.
