Original Abstract
This article presents the requirements for a communication bus to control the movements of weapons turrets mounted on mobile reconnaissance robots. The requirements are intended to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the controls of a dangerous device, such as a remote-controlled weapon. Any malfunction of the controller must not result in damage to the turret device, or harm to persons near the turret. Control of the turret must be reliable and authorized. All requirements are described in the specimen implementation for a local CAN bus between motor drivers and the controller, and an Ethernet bus between the controller and remote operator station.
