Original Abstract

Hydrogel form of humic acids has recently been used as a suitable material for modelling transport of heavy metals in natural humic environments (e.g. soils or sediments) [1, 2]. Although various interactions between the diffusing specie and the humic matrix can take place which result in complexes with different stability and mobility, just the overall concentration of the metal was observed in the gel in these experiments. Presented contribution extends this approach by combining diffusion experiments focused on transport of copper ions in humic gel with fractional extraction of diffused matter utilizing leaching agents with increasing affinity towards copper(II) ions.
