Original Abstract

The paper gives an introduction in the theory of laminar flow instability solution using the Orr-Sommerfeld equation. There are summarized assumptions for derivation of the equation and clarified the meaning of the solution for the instability growth. There is given solution method with results for the Poisseuille flow and for the Blasius and Pohlhausen solutions of the boundary layer velocity profiles.
