Original Abstract
Macro-defect-free cements (MDF) are composites of a water-soluble polymer and cement, characterized by its extremely low porosity and unusual mechanical properties. But MDF cements have also certain limitations. Major limitation is the particularly decrease of mechanical properties at high relative humidity. Modifications to the MDF manufacturing process and the selection of the polymer used have overcome many of these problems. In this work the effects of three different organotitanate cross-linking agents on the properties MDF cements and moisture sensitivity were investigated. Fiber reinforcements were also used, which affected the mechanical properties of MDF cements.
