Original Abstract

The main purpose of this paper is the theoretical development of methods of fuzzy searching in fuzzy numbers especially in fuzzy numbers with a trapezoidal membership function, in virtue of information about properties of items which are saved in a fuzzy database system are represented by fuzzy numbers. On the basis of Zadeh’s extension principle are defined fuzzy metrics. Fuzzy distances between optimal value of properties and information about properties of saved items are defined by means of fuzzy metrics. So the optimal item is an item with minimal distance. The results will be applied to the creation of the fuzzy database system FSearch 3.0 as an upgrade of the fuzzy database system FSearch 2.0.
