Original Abstract

The ultrasonic spectroscopy is widely used in non-destructive testing. The method of non-linear ultrasonic spectroscopy is a new way in non-destructive testing, where the principal of this method is based on the detection of higher harmonic ultrasonic signals, which cause the non-linear interaction between mechanical waving and defects in rock sample structure. The measured sample was granite from Mrakotin, placed in the Czech Republic. The sample was stressed by high pressure about 320 kN. The applied stress leads to destruction of the sample structure and it is possible to see and measure the damage. We applied one ultrasonic signal with frequency 16.1 kHz and we have analyzed the peak value of the second and the third harmonic signal by Fast Fourier Transform. The paper presents our results measured before and after damage of the sample.
