Original Abstract

It is not possible to solve the gas-dynamics without the knowledge of radiation field and on the other hand, it is not possible to solve the energy transfer without specifying the gas dynamics parameters. The experimental observation of radiation transfer is very difficult due to experimental conditions such as high temperature, pressure and velocity of the gas, etc. In such cases, the mathematical modelling is of great importance. Mixtures of SF6 (sulphur hexafluoride) with PTFE (polythetrafluorethylene) occur in switching arcs of SF6 "self-blast" circuit breakers. In this paper, we would like to present necessary data and methods to calculate and investigate the radiation transfer of the arc in a PTFE atmosphere and any mixture of SF6 and PTFE.
