This article deals with contours (edges) detection of blood vessels (veins or arteries) using techniques of digital image processing. Source pictures of blood vessels are acquired in NIR (Near Infra Red, light band which is invisible by naked eye) with wavelength approximately within the range 800 - 1000 nm.
