Original Abstract

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were manufactured in pressure microwave plasma torch to create modern conducting wire. CNTs were synthesized in the mixture of argon, methane and hydrogen on the silicon substrate with SiO2 buffer layer and a thin top iron film serving as a catalyst. One of the research surveys includes measurements of their electrical properties such as current-voltage (I–V) characteristics for application as modern conducting wires. Preparation of solutions with well dispersed CNTs was studied using distilled water and ethyl alcohol with ultrasonication utilization. Dried solution’s drops were studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The electrical measurement chips with gold electrodes were made by electron beam lithography (EBL). CNTs were placed on the measurement chips by dropping their solution and the I–V characteristics may be measured by contacting the electrodes bridged by CNTs.
