Original Abstract

The glaucoma disease is connected with a loss of the retinal nerve fiber layer. One possibility how to analyze and quantify this layer are image processing based techniques that use the color fundus images. In these images, the nerve fiber layer exhibits itself as a gentle texture. This work is focused on the texture enhancement and analysis to obtain valuable parameters for the discrimination of the tissue with the presence or absence of nerve fibers.
