Original Abstract

The fractional calculus is a branch of mathematics which generalizes the integer-order calculus to non-integer order one. The definition of a fractional derivative known as Grunwald-Letnikov definition is recalled. Some interesting properties of these approaches are discussed and illustrated by examples.
