Original Abstract

Assessing the impact of sources of distributed generation from the point of view of deteriorating voltage quality is a frequent problem. Nowadays, when voltage quality has been increasingly affected by electronically controlled appliances, it is important to limit further aggravating the problem. Moreover, renewable sources of energy usually represent generation of quite a volatile nature, hard to be determined. According to the approved conception of the expansion of renewable sources of energy, an increase in the share of those sources (and, consequently, deteriorating voltage quality) can be expected in distribution networks, mainly at the voltage level of 22 kV, but also at lower voltages. Evaluating the impact on the network to which the source will be connected includes assessing the influence of the operation of such a source on increasing the share of harmonics in the network voltage. This analysis is based on the known parameters of the source and the equipment used to transmit the energy to the source connection point. The objective is to get as close as possible to the real situation and to evaluate correctly the changes in voltage quality due to the connected source.
