Original Abstract

The paper focuses on the service life problem of draught cooling towers. These towers are in thermal power stations synergistically utilized for cooling of technological water and for exhaust of desulphurized combustion gases. The trend of utilizing the cooling towers in this way seems to be very prospective. It is of course necessary to bear in mind that this synergistic utilization of cooling towers can substantially limit their durability. The subject of this paper is the analysis of effect of desulphurized combustion gases on durability of cooling towers.
