Original Abstract

The method of Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar test is used to establish the dynamic mechanical properties of materials. The paper deals with the practical significance of the Hopkinson test when acquiring data about steels formed at higher deformation rates. En experimental pneumatic facility of the laboratory for High-rate deformations at the FME BUT is described.
