Original Abstract

We seem however to agree upon that entrepreneurship encompasses acts of creation that cannot be planned but reflect experiential learning. Yet, the ways we research entrepreneurship often submit to standardised academic routines. We see a number of reasons for this (Johannisson, 1999). First, in order to overcome our liabilities ofnewness as a research field we need legitimacy. Second, originally the field seems to have been a retreat for disillusioned researchs from other fields of management, often quantitative. Third, today sponsor money for academic chairs in entrepreneurship is abundant, not just in the USA but also in Europe. Such money is usually given to render the kind recognition that is associated with accademia as an institution.
