This paper deals with the uplink UMTS performance in AWGN channel conditions – BER (Bit Error Ratio) dependency on Eb/No ratio is analyzed. Mathematical model of signal processing in uplink direction is presented. There are also described basic operations, such as uplink spreading and scrambling, modulation, used channelisation and scrambling codes, etc. The simulation results for various spreading factors are graphically presented.
