The contribution shows results of measurements of probability density function of (random) received power pdf(P) and probability density function of durations of the link unavailability events pdf(t) in central European localities. Differences in qualitative parameters of FSO link for given localities are analyzed. An improved statistical model of the terrestrial free space optical links is presented. It is based on measured data and includes two-dimensional probability density function pdf(F,t) as a synthesis of models based on pdf(F) and pdf(t).
