Original Abstract

The article deals with determining the dynamic Young’s modulus of cementitious materials at their early age. For the experiment, pastes, mortars, and concretes were prepared with different water-cement ratios but with exactly the same input components. The dynamic Young’s modulus was always determined at the ages of 24 and 72 hours using two methods – ultrasonic pulse velocity and resonance. The outcome of the article is the discovered relationships between the calculated Young’s moduli ratio and compressive strength and also the Young’s modulus itself.
