Original Abstract

A novel and unique heat energy storage system is introduced in this work in the context of energy balancing of renewable sources of energy. Many of the market competitive renewable sources of energy have difficulties with continuous energy production which creates specific demands on the electric grid and brings up the necessity for some sort of energy management. In this paper, we discuss the properties of adsorption heat energy storage technology as a novel way for short to long-term energy storage improving the utilisation of renewable sources of energy. The utilization of surplus energy from the renewable energy source is discussed in the example of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels and solar collectors.
