Original Abstract

The purpose of this article is the design of a magnetometer (gaussmeter) with a three-axis probe for magnetic field mapping and subsequent reconstruction of the image using magnetic impedance tomography (MIT). Commercially available magnetometers have low frequency bandwidth and signals cannot be measured in synchronous detection mode. The aim of this article is twofold. First, to select the most suitable magnetic field sensor for the MIT purposes. Second, to design the full measuring device with wide frequency band and synchronous detection. Great care was taken to the selection of a suitable mechanical design of the probe and the location of the sensors. The designed magnetometer was able to perform basic measurements and their properties were evaluated and validated by comparison with standard magnetometers.
