Original Abstract

This paper presents a new structure of axial passive magnetic bearing. Conception is based on three rings permanent magnets with axial magnetization and repulsive magnetic forces. The pair of permanent magnets form the bearing stator and central magnet is mounted on the shaft. This axial magnetic bearing is designed to seal-less pump. Analytical calculation of magnetic forces leads to complex equations. Therefore the design has been done for simplify by finite element method in ANSYS Maxwell. Bearing is dimensioned for the forces generated by the pump operation. Passive bearing must work in cooperation with two active radial magnetic bearings for ensure stability in five degrees of freedom. One part of the article is also devoted to experimental measurement.
