Original Abstract

Fast and accurate plasma radiation evaluation is one of the challenges encountered in high temperature plasma simulations. It can be achieved by several different approaches including the Mean Absorption Coefficients (MACs). However, knowledge of the critical parameters is required for accurate deployment of MACs including an optimal band distribution, a method of the mean value evaluation and possibly a line limiting factor.\\ In this contribution we focus on a very small subset of parameters required for an accurate radiation evaluation using MACs. Namely we are discussing the applicability of the line limiting factor and associated optimal band distribution over the range of plasma pressures from 0.5 to 5\,bar. We show, that even though it is possible to estimate the generally applicable parameters at atmospheric pressure, it is not possible to simply extend them to a different pressures without some accuracy loss. We compare the generalized parameters accuracy to the optimal solution and discuss the accuracy loss in more detail.
