Original Abstract

First results for frequency-domain channel measurements in a bus in the $60$ GHz millimeter wave band are reported. The simple setup used consists of analog signal generator and scalar signal analyzer, instead of vector network analyzers which are costly and suffer from cable length limitation. Path loss values are computed directly from the frequency-domain data and log-distance model parameters are extracted. Next, assuming minimum phase channel, delay profiles are constructed from amplitude-only data following a Hilbert transform. Using the path loss and delay parameter values, the effect of seat position, passenger occupancy, reflections from glass window etc. are discussed in detail.
