Original Abstract

The contribution presents simulation of a concrete cantilever beam loaded by force at the free end. The beam is modeled by a discrete meso-scale model with random geometry based on Voronoi tessellation. The purpose is to verify the ability of the discrete model to simulate the dynamic behavior of a simple linear elastic material in regime of small deformations. The equations of motion are solved with a help of the implicit Newmark method. Results computed with different time discretization and model settings are compared.
