Original Abstract

An open waveguide structure is converted to the closed one using a special spatial transform. Then, the structure is analysed in terms of hybrid nodal / edge finite elements. The necessity of computing eigensolutions of the resultant matrix equation is eliminated by hybridizing the finite element method with the complex hopping technique.
