Original Abstract

The increase of lithium batteries security can be achieved by the use of sulfolane as a solvent for electrolyte preparation, and by addition of phosphorus compounds (dimethyl methyl phosphonate DMMP and/or triphenylphosphate TPP). Both named flame retardants increase flash point in a considerable measure. The conductivity of lithium salt is lowered by TPP on contrary to DMMP, the presence of which increases the electrolyte conductivity.
