Original Abstract

Evaluation of daylighting in building based on a consideration of real sky conditions for the room daylight simulations can be useful for specification of requirements for window design and sun-shading devices in buildings. An influence of window size, position and its orientation on daylighting in a residential building room was studied. The study is focused on daylighting evaluation under clear as well as overcast sky conditions. Computer daylight simulations for a reference room were run analysing the illuminance distribution on a working plane. Evaluations are completed in the simulation tool Velux Daylight Visualizer. The daylighting analysis shows differences in areas illuminated by natural light in rooms oriented to cardinal points.
