Original Abstract

The paper deals with the creation of a geographic information system (GIS) with the main emphasis of its usage in cycling. The goal of the project is to provide to the user the maximum useful information about the surrounding of the wine paths. The mathematical model of the geo-database has been created. Core of this model is based on the hierarchical classification tree of the relevant entities and their attributes. The data collection on the paths, obtaining of the maps data and their processing and transformation are described. The import of geo-data, geodatabase creation and a graphic representation design of cycle tracks and infrastructure are explained. The conception of the project is devoted to a real use of GIS - tasks as searching, querying and creating of outputs are implemented into the application. The possibilities of export to other formats (ArcReader, ArcPad, ArcScene and GeoPDF) and platforms (PDA, tablet, web map server) have been explored.
