Original Abstract

This paper presents possible usage of the predictive direct stator flux control (PDSFC) algorithm for stator flux oriented vector control of AC induction motors in field weakening region. The required magnitude of the stator flux vector enters directly into PDSFC control scheme without requiring the flux controller. From this point of view it seems to be simple to extend it with algorithm for field weakening. This enables AC induction motor to operate above nominal speed and also to achieve nearly optimal efficiency.
