Original Abstract

This paper proposes possible way how to realise time synchronization for Smart Grid devices over power-line communication (PLC). Time synchronization methods like 1- PPS, IRIG-B, GPS time or IEEE1588 are well known and used generally in Smart Grids, but not suitable for most devices with PLC. PLC channel is considered as difficult due to strong interferences, slow communication speeds and variable topology. Proposed solution for low-voltage segment uses significant event on line, zero-crossing for synchronization purpose.

Czech abstract

Táto práca navrhuje možné riešenie synchronizácie času pre Smart Grid zariadenia komunikujúce pomocou power-line komunikácie (PLC). Synchronizačné metódy ako 1-PPS, IRIG-B, GPS alebo IEEE1588 sú obecne známe a používane v Smart Grid, ale nie sú vhodné pre väčšinu zariadeni s PLC. PLC kanál je považovaný za náročný z dôvodu silných rušení, pomalých komunikačných rýchlostí a premenlivej topológie. Navrhované riešenie pre nízko-napäťový segment využíva výraznú udalosť na linke akým je prechod nulou k synchronizacií.
