Original Abstract

The paper describes a design of Quadrature Mirror Filter (QMF) bank using standard algorithms for digital filters of the FIR type. The Remez algorithm is used here as an example for the design of a bank of partial digital filters. The design method leads to a filter bank with a uniform ripple, and enables fulfilling an optional tolerance field in both the pass band and stop band, the optimum filter order being N-1.
