Original Abstract

The article discusses the use of the multi-criteria analysis method for the decision making of the properties suitable for recreational use. A new assessment method is presented in this article which has not been utilized in the field of recreational areas of the real estate engineering. The method is based on scoring evaluation of the given object in a geographic information system (GIS). The principle of this method lies in the fact that points from the expert system are assigned to relevant assessment criteria. This expert system is based on legal standards in force and the experiences of all participants (brokers, clients, etc.) of real estate market are incorporated into this system. The essence of the scoring evaluation is a spreadsheet system where points from a maximum number are given to each of the criteria. Maximum number of the points corresponds to the ideal value of the criteria. The method was validated in the framework of selecting a suitable property for recreational purposes in the locality Brno-Bystrc (Czech Republic). The method is used for the purposes of revitalization of the current unused areas designated for recreation which were functional before about 20 years ago.
