Original Abstract

Any symmetric encryption algorithm used in a common way for securing network data transmissions of real-time (time-based) media may encounter the problem of packet reorder or loss because of real-time data are transported by the UDP protocol. With improper use of the encryption algorithm this may lead to undecipherable information, because an encrypted block depends on the previous one. This article deals with the method of solving that problem in context of real-time data transport protocols, RTP and SRTP.
