Original Abstract

Lithium ion batteries are commonly used around the world. In dependence on the batteries application it is possible to use them as stationary power sources, power mobile devices or as electro mobile propulsion. The batteries have to be safe in all conditions of use. That is the reason for do a research and innovation on materials which will increase the fire safety and lower the risk of burn or explosion. The main goal of this paper is to determine the influence of low flammable solvent dimethyl sulfone on permittivity with ethylene carbonate mixtures. The ethylene carbonate is the most used solvent for electrolytes in lithium ion batteries. In this work the relative permittivity, density and dynamic viscosity dependencies in temperature range 300 – 370 K are determined.
