Original Abstract

This contribution aims with investigation of the (co)polymerization kinetics of the dimethacrylate monomers, used, inter alia, in the field of restorative dentistry. The kinetics and mechanisms of tetrafunctional networks morphogenesis were studied regarding the structural differences and the molar ratio of the comonomers used. Then, time and temperature dependences of the viscoelastic moduli of these systems were determined in order to quantify the relationship between the supramolecular structure and storage and loss moduli. In order to clarify the characteristics mentioned above, various methods of structural and thermomechanical analysis were employed. (Co)Polymerization kinetics was studied by differential photocalorimetry (DPC). Double bond conversion was determined by both the kinetic measurements and by the infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). Viscoelastic parameters were measured by the methods of dynamic-mechanical analysis (DMA). The kinetics of the decomposition process was investigated using thermogravimetric analysis (TGA).
