Original Abstract

In this paper, we present the design and the comparison of two antennas based on substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technology. The antennas were designed for millimeter wave applications operating in frequency band from 71 to 76 GHz. First, a planar Yagi-Uda antenna was investigated. The Yagi-Uda antenna achieved the impedance bandwidth 68% and the gain 12.4 dBi at the center frequency. Second, a linear eight-slot antenna was researched. The slot antenna achieved the gain 13.8 dBi at the center frequency, and the impedance bandwidth was 3 GHz. Both the antennas were simulated in CST Microwave Studio.
