Abstract: This article examines the cultural significance of Québécois cuisine. The focus of this paper is not only about recipes of excellent meals, but on their cultural significance which touches different levels of Quebec life. This paper shows that Québécois cuisine can be related to religion and national holidays; other meals have a more economic aspect to it; some are ethnic (i.e. outside the French Canadian paradigm); while others can be categorized as greasy spoon, but with a Québécois slant

Abstrakt: Tento článek se zabývá kulturní význam Québécois kuchyně. Těžištěm této práce není jen o recepty vynikajících jídel, ale na jejich kulturního významu, který se týká různých úrovní Quebec života. Tento dokument ukazuje, že Québécois kuchyně může být ve vztahu k náboženství a státní svátky, ostatní jídla mají větší ekonomický aspekt toho, některé jsou etnické (tj. mimo francouzské kanadské paradigmatu), zatímco jiní mohou být klasifikovány jako mastný lžíce, ale s Québécois sklon.
