Original Abstract

This paper presents analyze of the data measured during the real network experiments. The experiments were focused on localization of earth faults in compensated 22 kV network by means of healthy phase additional earthing method. Principle of this method is intentionally connecting of healthy phase to earth for very short time during the earth fault. Thus the two phase short circuit is created in the fault feeder and the location of short circuit can be determined by distance protection. Whole the localization process must be very fast to avoid the trip of overcurrent protection in faulted feeder due to short circuit current. The experiments have been performed in 22 kV distribution network in the end of last year. Earth fault was created in two different sites and additional earthing of healthy phase was realized by specialized circuit breaker installed in 22 kV switchgear of transformation substation. Due to the evaluation of measuring data from above mentioned experiments we can prove a performance and reliability of this localization method.
