Original Abstract

The paper deals with a time-domain simulation of hybrid systems composed of multiconductor transmission lines (MTL) and a part with lumped-parameter elements. The MTLs, nonuniform in general, are modeled by generalized T networks in cascade being described by a state-variable method. Their boundary conditions are embodied via a modified nodal analysis (MNA) method which is used to describe a lumped-parameter part of the hybrid system. This approach leads to sole system of differential-algebraic equations (DAE) describing both lumped and distributed parts. The time-domain solution is performed by built-in Matlab functions. An example is shown and compared with Laplace-domain and Wendroff method approaches.
