Original Abstract

Design of composite slabs according to codes is governed by semi-empirical methods using whole scale bending test to set load bearing capacities for each new type of geometry or covering of the sheeting. This kind of test is relatively expensive; therefore there is an effort to find a cheaper way how to obtain necessary characteristics of the sheetings. One of the possibilities is to use smaller slip-block test to obtain a longitudinal shear characteristics. Several test of this kind have already been performed in our laboratory. Special loading device was prepared, as there is no standard describing this kind of test. Results of the tests are used to evaluate and calibrate numerical models.
