Original Abstract

The paper deals with the new method of winding design. This new method allows to simply design any irregular AC windings. The new method is based on the notion of local density of conductors. As an example, the design of the interspersed winding 1-3-1 by this new method is shown. This type of winding is used to reduce higher harmonic components of magnetic flux density in the air gap, mainly the fifth and the seventh harmonic.
