Original Abstract

Cracks creation is accompanied by electric charge redistribution due to loosen chemical bonds. Electric charges on crack walls create a dipole momentum and crack wall vibrations produce time dependent electric and magnetic fields. An electric signal is induced on metal electrodes and after its analysis is carried out information on the crack wall movement can be obtained. For crack lengths below 1 mm the respective electrical signal has a frequency of over 2 MHz. In this paper the frequency analysi was performed in frequency band up to 5 MHz.
