Original Abstract

A methodology is proposed for the synthesis of mutators for mutual transformation of the so-called higher-order elements from Chua's periodical table of fundamental electrical elements. The purpose of the mutator is to transform the (alpha1,beta1) element, connected to port 1, into the (alpha2,beta2) element emulated at port 2. The synthesis is done in two steps. The behavioral model of the mutator in the form of controlled sources is found first. Concrete circuitry is then designed with the help of active integrated circuits.
