Original Abstract
Interactive telemedicine services, especially remote medical diagnostics, become very popular due to their cost efficiency and low response times. On the other hand several acquisition units connected to a communication network can significantly increase the network load and often require additional observation and network optimization. It is usually always true in the case of communication links connecting hospital facilities to the Internet. These links used to be leased from commercial ISPs and there is a pressure to select low cost solution, but still keeping the required quality of telemedical network services. The article deals with statistical modelling of network traffic generated by Computed Radiography and Computed Tomography. Statistical models were used to optimize network capacity from the point of view of application response time.
